Today we pause to thank all of the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation. Thank you to all veterans in every branch of armed forces and to all of our local “Hometown Heroes”!

Thank you Mr. Deering for sharing your knowledge and experiences with our remote classes (K & 1) this morning for Veterans Day! We had a lot of fun learning about the Army. Thank you Mr. Deering for your service! Thank you Harper for sharing your dad with us this morning! Happy Veterans Day!

Parents - we have had concerns regarding people parking at Crotty Park at the end of the day to meet children and backing out onto the service road between the two buildings from our bus drivers. If you must park at Crotty after school, please consider parking across the street from park in the baseball field parking lot. You enter the lot from Shipyard and then will pull forward out onto the service road. We hope this will help keep the flow of traffic moving and keep students safe. Thank you!

North Campus car drop-off will be changing slightly with the dropping temperatures. We will have staff members that will meet students at the cars then direct students into the vestibule where temperatures will be taken. Parents should stay until students are cleared, then the outside staff will direct parents to leave. This will increase our wait time slightly. You can help by making sure your child has their mask on when the car stops and making sure all materials (bookbag, water, lunches etc.) are close by the student to exit the car quickly. Our doors open at 7:35 and close at 8:05. We appreciate everyone’s continued help and support.

The 7th graders traveled back in time today to learn all about the 60's. Along with a virtual museum scavenger hunt, they learned all about dances of the decade and caught a glimpse of a few TV shows and concerts from the 60's. They also made their very own lava lamps. It was one groovy day!

Eighth grade students spent the day on a virtual field trip to our state capital, Springfield! They began their day by completing virtual tours, photo tours, and website searches related to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, The Old State Capitol, the Lincoln Home, and the Lincoln Tomb at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Students then tested their knowledge of these sites in a game of Kahoot. They finished their virtual field trip by creating Lincoln inspired pretzel log cabins.
