On Saturday, November 2nd , 6 Seneca Grade School students were selected for and performed at the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) District 2 Music Festival hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. Students were selected through audition, competing with students from across the region to be selected for either band or chorus. The following students were selected for this year’s festival. In Junior Band, Alaina Daschner (8th grade, alto saxophone) and Reese Harkins (7th grade, tuba), for Jr. Mixed Chorus, Talia Jenkins (8th grade, alto), and for Jr. Treble Chorus, Abigail Alexander (7th grade, alto), Annika Jackson (7th grade, soprano) and Aurora Jackson (7th grade, soprano). Additionally, Avery Jankowski (7th grade) was selected for the Jr. Jazz Ensemble on piano. The ILMEA District 2 Jazz Festival will take place on Saturday, November 9th at Galesburg High School. Congratulations to all for their hard work and exceptional performances in their ensembles!
